Welcome to InfraGard Los Angeles

InfraGard is a national education and information sharing program created by and between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the private/public sector. There are InfraGard groups in cities around the country. Their individual and combined objectives include the mitigating of local, state and national vulnerabilities which terrorists might attempt to exploit. By their implementation, these objectives also provide increased protection against criminal activities found in our cities and towns, corporate environments, and our personal lives.

Our Mission Statement
We are a private sector organization sharing information and intelligence and integrating assets with local, state, and federal resources for the protection of our nation's critical infrastructure.

Los Angeles is one of the largest InfraGard Alliance regions as it represents the same seven counties as the FBI office out of which it operates. Membership is organized into the Dept. of Homeland Security's 18 critical infrastructures. The L.A. region also includes three unique sub-sectors: Education, Entertainment/Large Venues and Faith-Based Venues.

INFRAGARD LOS ANGELES (IGLA) – PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

June 2014

Welcome New Members!

We are at a new plateau as an organization and you, our InfraGard Los Angeles (IGLA) Members, are the reason.

Over the past year, InfraGard LA has stayed the course during a reorganization of InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) and remains the premiere Chapter of InfraGard.  Thanks go to the InfraGard LA's Board of Director's, IGLA Staff and our FBI Coordinator and Staff who were a strong influence during the FBI's introduction of the new National Infrastructure Protection Unit (NIPU) at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C.  Next and foremost is the InfraGard LA Members who responded to our call and re-registered with InfraGard National as part of the FBI Mandate.  With nearly 3,000 members, IGLA remains the largest Chapter of INMA because of you.

There is also exciting news to share from the IGLA program perspectives.  IGLA is home to the new FBI Information Sharing Initiative that was unveiled in April 2014.  The new initiative, when final adjustments are complete, will be the FBI flag ship of interagency information sharing.  This will positively affect all private sector members with more real-time and less layered information.  The USC - Cyber Program continues to evolve to meet the changing dynamics of our membership and continues to draw record attendees to the Certificate program.  Our KIPP - Infrastructure Liaison Officer Program continues to adapt to our specific Sector needs and is reaching the limits of the FBI area of responsibility. The ILO is also expanding to other regions where KIPP is partnering with other Fusion Centers to create ILO programs specific to their needs.

FBI Los Angeles has prudently partnered the Domestic Security Alliance Committee (DSAC) with the InfraGard LA Chapter.  This allows for key personnel in high profile organizations to have access to critical information at the same time as their senior executives.  This will provide continuity of operations, security awareness and planning at the heart of key resources and critical infrastructure businesses.

Finally, InfraGard LA is working closely with the reorganized InfraGard National Members Alliance in order to support their mission and provide opportunities to smaller chapters while promoting a one mission, one message ideology with National.

Again, Welcome New Members and THANK YOU to our steadfast membership who keeps InfraGard LA the premiere Alliance in the nation!

Sincerely,

Roger Rieger, President and CEO

InfraGard Los Angeles
